We claim:

1. In combination with a drink mixer having an upright standard with a frontwall and spaced sidewalls and a motor housing containing an electric motor mounted upon said standard, a switch assembly for controlling said motor comprising a bracket mounted upon said standard, a flat slide plate mounted for sliding movement on said bracket, one terminal end surface of said slide plate operating as a switch control surface, said slide plate being movable on said bracket from a rest position to an activate position by an actuator connected thereto and extending through said standard frontwall, and switch means mounted upon said bracket and having switch operator means positioned to contact said slide plate switch control surface when the slide plate is in the rest position, said slide plate moving out of contact with said switch operator means when the slide plate moves toward the activate position, said switch means including a normally closed microswitch having a switch button which opens said microswitch when depressed, said switch operator means operating to depress said switch button when in contact with said slide plate switch control surface and to release said switch button when said slide plate moves out of contact with said switch operator means.

2. In combination with a drink mixer having an upright standard with a frontwall and spaced sidewalls and a motor housing containing an electric motor mounted upon said standard, a switch assembly for controlling said motor comprising a bracket mounted upon said standard, a flat slide plate mounted for sliding movement on said bracket, one terminal end surface of said slide plate operating as a switch control surface, said bracket including a flat front face for supporting said flat slide plate, a lower end of said front face being curved inwardly toward said slide plate to extend inwardly beyond the plane of said slide plate, and the forward end of said slide plate opposite the lower end of said front face being curved upwardly away from said front face, said slide plate being movable on said bracket from a rest position to an activate position by an actuator connected thereto and extending through said standard frontwall, biasing means connected to positively bias said slide plate toward the rest position, said biasing means including a spring extending between said slide plate forward end and said front face lower end in spaced relationship to the remaining flat portion of said slide plate, and switch means mounted upon said bracket and having switch operator means positioned to contact said slide plate switch control surface when the slide plate is in the rest position, said slide plate moving out of contact with said switch operator means when the slide plate moves toward the activate position.

3. The switch assembly of claim 2 wherein said switch operator means includes an elongated arm pivotally mounted at one end to said microswitch and extending over said switch button, said bracket including a cutaway portion to receive the free end of said elongated arm, and said flat slide plate being mounted to extend between the free end of said elongated arm and the cutaway portion when said slide plate is in the rest position.

4. In combination with a drink mixer having an upright standard with a frontwall and spaced sidewalls and a motor housing containing an electric motor mounted upon said standard, a switch assembly for controlling said electric motor comprising a bracket mounted upon said standard, switch means mounted upon said bracket and operable to selectively complete or open an electrical circuit to said electric motor, said switch means including switch operator means operable in response to an external force applied thereto to assume an actuated position wherein said switch means is caused to open said electrical circuit and in response to the absence of said external force to assume a nonactuated position wherein said switch means is caused to close said electrical circuit, and a slide plate mounted for sliding movement on said bracket between a rest position and a second position by a actuator connected thereto and extending through said standard frontwall, said slide plate having a first terminal end which contacts said switch operator means and applies said external force thereto to place said switch operator means in the actuated position when said slide plate is in the rest position, said slide plate operating to cause said switch operator means to move to said nonactuated position when said slide plate is moved from said rest position toward said second position.

5. The switch assembly of claim 4 which includes biasing means connected to positively bias said slide plate toward the rest position.

6. The switch assembly of claim 4 wherein said switch means includes a normally closed microswitch having a switch casing and a movable switch button extending from said casing which opens said microswitch when depressed, said switch operator means operating to depress said switch button when in contact with said slide plate first terminal end and to release said switch button when said slide plate moves away from said rest position and including an elongated arm pivotally mounted at one end to said microswitch casing and extending over said switch button, said bracket including a cutaway portion to receive the free end of said elongated arm, and said slide plate being mounted to extend between the free end of said elongated arm and the cutaway portion when said slide plate is in the rest position.

7. The switch assembly of claim 6 wherein said bracket includes a bracket front wall for supporting said slide plate and a bracket side wall extending from said bracket front wall for supporting said microswitch casing, said cutaway portion in said bracket being provided in said bracket frontwall, the microswitch casing being mounted on said bracket sidewall to maintain said switch button and elongated arm in spaced relationship to said slide plate, a section of said elongated arm adjacent the free end thereof being angled toward said bracket front wall to permit the free end of said elongated arm to extend into said cutaway portion when said slide plate is moved away from the rest position.
