Claims: I claim:

1. In combination, a display case and a merchandise display rack for supporting said display case, said merchandise display rack including a pair of spaced apart support members, means for connecting said support members and whereby one of said support members is shiftable relative to the other support member for varying the distance therebetween, said display case including a base and a removable cover, said display case including a front side and a rear side narrower than said front side and a pair of converging lateral sides, said display case having a generally trapezoidal cross-sectional configuration in a plane transverse to the direction in which said support members are shiftable, said base including a bottom portion and a back portion, a hinge connected to said bottom portion and said back portion and hingedly connecting said portions for movement between an open position and an angular position, latch means on said portions for releasably securing said portions in said open position, said base including a pair of bores therein and said cover including a bore therein alignable with one of said pair of bores when said base and cover are together, said support members each having a projection receivable within said bores in said display case whereby said display case can be releasably mounted on and secured by said merchandise display rack in locked condition.

2. The combination set forth in claim 1 wherein said latch means on said base includes a latch member integrally connected to one of said portions and a slot in the other of said portions and for receiving an end of said latch member in releaseably secured engagement to secure said bottom and back portion in said angular position.

3. The combination set forth in claim 1 further including a mounting cuff attached to one of said portions for supporting a wristwatch thereon.

4. In combination:

a merchandise display rack for supporting a display case, said rack including a pair of spaced-apart support members which are relatively shiftable with respect to each other between closed and open positions for varying the distance therebetween and means for shiftably connecting said support members together;

a display case including a base and a separable cover openable to afford access to the interior of the display case;

said display case including a front side and a rear side narrower than said front side and a pair of converging lateral sides, said display case having a trapezoidal cross-sectional configuration, and said display case including bores therein;

engagement means of each of said support members for engagement with both said base and separable cover of said display case adjacent said rear side thereof when said support members are in closed position to releasably secure said display case between said support members and to lock said base and separable cover together against separation, said engagement means comprising projections receivable within said bores in said display case whereby base and said cover of said display case can be releasably secured together in locked condition on said display rack.

5. The combination set forth in claim 4 wherein said spaced apart support members are parallel and circular and each have a circumference, and wherein said engagement means comprise vertically extending opposed projections secured to the circumferences of said support members.

6. A combination according to claim 4 wherein said base includes a bottom, a back relatively moveable with respect to said bottom and hinge means connecting said bottom and said back, and interengaging locking means on said base for maintaining said bottom and said back in predetermined relationship with respect to each other.

7. In combination:

a merchandise display rack for supporting a plurality of display cases, said rack including a pair of spaced-apart concentric generally circular support members which are relatively shiftable with respect to each other between closed and open positions for varying the distance therebetween and means for shiftably connecting together said support members;

a plurality of display cases mounted around the periphery of said rack in a radial arrangement and received between said support members, each display case having a front side and a rear side narrower than said front side, and a pair of spaced-apart lateral sides, each display case having a generally trapezoidal cross-sectional configuration whereby when a plurality of display cases are arranged around the periphery of said rack, the adjacent lateral sides of adjacent display cases are relatively close to one another; and

means on said support members and on each of said display cases for releasably mounting said plurality of display cases around the periphery of said rack in radial arrangement, said means comprising opposed projections extending from said support members in aligned relation, said display cases each comprising a base portion and a removable cover having aligned bores therethrough for receiving said projections whereby said base portion and said removable cover are locked together and connected to said support members.

8. The combination set forth in claim 7 wherein adjacent lateral sides of adjacent display cases are substantially parallel.

9. The combination set forth in claim 7 wherein said display cases comprise wristwatch display cases including means on said base and cover enabling said base and cover to be releasably secured together, and a mounting cuff support by said base and for supporting a wristwatch thereon.
