Title: Filling and distribution apparatus and method for silos

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for forming alternating layers of coarse feed elements and fine feed elements when loading a livestock feed storage structure. The apparatus includes a center fill tube and a movable distributor supported from the center fill tube. The distributor includes a pan and a drive to rotate the pan about a central axis. When positioned in alignment with the center fill tube, feed is distributor filled into the storage structure. When positioned out of alignment with the center fill tube, feed is center filled into the storage structure. Alternating between distributor fill and center fill creates the layering of coarse and fine elements.
