Title: System for the monitoring and restoration of series terminals in a looped communication system

Abstract: A loop architecture modification is provided along with a monitoring and control device for unidirectional loop architecture such that failed terminals or loop interconnections may be detected and such that corrective actions may be automatically or manually taken to restore operation to the remaining terminals in the loop.
