Title: Loudspeaker cone stiffeners

Abstract: An improved loudspeaker cone construction and method of improving performance comprises the use of one or more stiffener columns positioned across and attached to a loudspeaker cone at points intermediate small and large ends of the cone. A plurality of stiffener columns may be arranged in one or more cross shaped arrays or one or more polygon shapes, and attached to the cone in a plane perpendicular to a central axis of the cone. The stiffener rods reduce self-resonances within the cone and improve stiffness to generally improve performance.
