Title: Asbestos surfacing process

Abstract: Process for the impregnation of asbestos or other fibrous material, comprising, as a first step, impregnating, with the application of pressure, the material with a polymeric resin binder to substantially saturate the material with binder and, as a second step, applying a polymeric resin compound comprising a polymeric resin and a filler. The process of the invention substantially prevents the escape of minute fibers of asbestos into the atmosphere, and so reduces the health hazard associated with asbestos.
