Title: Method of manufacturing roller chimes for closed head drums

Abstract: In the production of closed head drums, integral L-shaped roller chimes are formed outwardly from the side walls of the drums. In producing the drums, a thermoplastic parison or tubular member is placed within a mold and is shaped by blowing it outwardly against the mold surfaces. In the blowing operation, an inwardly open channel-shaped part is formed in the tubular member, then by moving one part of the mold relative to another, the channel-shaped part is compressed into the L-shaped chime.
