Title: Novel halogenoethyl sulphones and their use as plant growth regulators

Abstract: A halogenoethyl sulphone of the formula ##STR1## wherein Hal represents halogen; and R represents hydrogen or an alkyl group of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, the use of such halogenoethyl sulphone as plant growth regulants and a process for regulating the growth of a crop by applying to the crop or a habitat thereof a composition comprising such halogenoethyl sulphone.
