Abstract: This invention relates to a method for controlling the relative stem and/or axillary growth of plants by applying to the foliage of the plants, to soil containing seeds of the plants, or to soil in which the plants are growing, a plant-growth regulating amount of an imidazolinyl benzoic acid, ester or salt.
