Title: Herbicidal derivatives of N-alkylpropanamides

Abstract: A racemic or (d) form of compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is alkyl optionally substituted by halogen, alkylsulfonyl, or halogen; R is an alkyl group and R.sup.1 is the residue of an organic acid function, is useful as an herbicide.
