Title: Broadband microstrip disc antenna

Abstract: A broadband antenna including a conductive disc parallel to and spaced from a ground plane with dielectric material therebetween, the disc including a first sector of approximately 270.degree. having a first diameter and the remaining sector having a second diameter different from the first so that the equivalent resonant structure of the antenna is essentially detuned to broaden the bandwidth thereof, and a cylindrical array of such antennas for providing a desired radiation pattern, generally omnidirectional.
