Abstract: A method of controlling and removing ice and snow from roads and bridge deckings in a substantially non-corrosive manner by applying calcium nitrite to such areas at a rate of from 1 to 50 tons per two-lane mile. The present method is particularly applicable to the control and removal of snow and ice from roads and bridges formed from hydraulic cement.
