Title: Protecting device for containers

Abstract: A strip of reinforcing material having a reverse bend section along one side edge is bendable to be wrapped around the rim of a container, such as a garbage or trash container. The reverse bend section forms a groove to receive the container rim and the remainder of the strip forms a protective and reinforcing skirt to prevent damage to adjacent portions of the container and to reduce noise incurred in handling the container.
