Title: Method of avoiding or preventing low-order ribbon windings in the winding of filaments

Abstract: A winding process for producing cheeses and cones for natural or synthetic drawn or undrawn filaments, wherein by controlling the traversing frequency DH of the traversing thread guide as a function of time or the radius of the cheese or the rotational speed of the cheese or equivalent parameters are at a constant ratio m'/k', where k' is the order of the ribbon winding and m' is the corresponding number of revolutions of the cheese, ribbon windings of the order k'>2 are exclusively produced.
