Title: Stabilization of deodorized edible oils

Abstract: This invention relates to the stabilization of deodorized edible oils. In the process of the invention, edible oils are steam deodorized in the presence of a peroxide inhibiting amount of molybdenum metal or molybdenum oxide. It has been further found that the stabilizing effect of molybdenum metal or molybdenum oxide is obtained even in the presence of pro-oxidant metals.
