Title: Slide closure arrangement for converters

Abstract: A flange of a tapping connection has extending outwardly therefrom pins which extend through a ring plate attached to the flange and through bores in a slide closure frame, thereby roughly aligning the frame. The ring plate has a centering ring which fits in an opening in the frame and thus precisely aligns the frame. The frame has aligning pins and attachment eyebolts, such that a completely assembled slide closure unit can be assembled to and disassembled from the frame.
