Abstract: A carpet shampooer with prefoaming means for the shampooing agent. The prefoaming means comprises a fixed member on the machine housing having projections which cooperate with formations on the rotating brush or brushes to subject the foaming agent which is introduced between the interdigiting formations to agitation in order to foam it before it contacts the carpet.
