Abstract: Mechanical brake of the pad and disc type having sure braking action, low internal friction and rapid release characteristics, and comprising a control cable responsive, movable rigid member having a directionally sloped shoulder, and follower structure having traveling tangential engagement with the member shoulder, to displace the pad into engagement with the disc for braking.
