Title: Cyanoalkyl sulfonates for the control of fungus growth

Abstract: Growth of fungi can be controlled by applying to the fungi a fungicidal composition comprising an effective quantity of a cyanoalkyl sulfonate of the formula ##EQU1## wherein R.sub.1 is an alkylene group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R is an aryl or arylalkyl group or an aliphatic group comprising a 1 to 12 carbon atom alkyl or cycloalkyl group at the site of attachment.
