Title: Heavy duty staple

Abstract: A heavy duty staple especially suitable for heavy duty outdoor uses such as in securing ground wires to wooden utility poles, and made from material of generally square cross section having along corners of the staple prongs longitudinal series of coined V-shaped interlock notches defined by substantially triangularly arrow-shaped surfaces with their apecis at the prong corners. Resistance to withdrawal of the staple from a wooden member into which driven is increased by lateral bulging projection of material coined from the notches.
