Abstract: Coining as-cast, Pb-Ca, expanded lead grids destined for use in positive, Faure-type, lead-acid storage battery plates. Expanded, as-cast, Pb-Ca strip is coined to remove all sharp edges and corners, to reorient the alloy's grain boundaries and to submerge nodal expansion cracks for increasing the cycle life of positive Pb-acid storage battery plates made therefrom.
