Title:
Electronic expression device for producing tremulant effect
Abstract:
Electronic expression device for producing a novel tremulant effect. The device has a frequency range separator separating an audio frequency signal into a plurality of sub-band signals at least one modulation system being connected to the frequency range separator in order to modulate the sub-band signals other than the lowest sub-band signal, and a coupling means for coupling the output signals of the modulation systems and the lowest sub-band signal. Each of the modulation systems has at least one modulator having a characteristic such that at least the modulation depth increases in accordance with an increase in the frequency of the input signal and the modulation depth exceeds .+-..pi./2 radian for phase modulation and 100 percent for amplitude modulation in a high frequency range. The audio frequency signal applied to the input terminal is translated in such a manner that frequency spectra of the signal are fluctuating differently with respect to the frequency, phase and amplitude from each other in high frequency ranges corresponding to the sub-band signals except the lowest, but are not fluctuating in the lowest sub-band frequency range. This is a continuation, of application Ser. No. 266,348, filed June 26, 1972, and now abandoned, which in turn is a continuation of Ser. No. 22,569, filed Mar. 25, 1970, and now abandoned.
