Title: Process for the chlorination of aromatic isocyanide dichlorides

Abstract: This invention relates to a novel process for the preparation of 4-chloro-2-alkylphenylisocyanide dichlorides. More particularly, this invention relates to the chlorination of ortho substituted phenylisocyanide dichlorides exclusively in the para-position. The compounds are useful intermediates in the preparation of ixodicidal, insecticidal, ovicidal and chemosterilizing agents.
